Last 1,000 Woodcuts Update of the year!
Still 142 done. Well actually, I have finished 9 more, but I have not had
time to update the website. Next year...

I'm going on vacation soon, to relax in the frozen tundra(!) of Kansas (I
hear it has been warmer there than here). In any case, I always take some
little project to do while waiting for the sun to rise or set; just
something to sneak in between delicious "expeditions" with and even more
delicious meals with the family.

This year, one of my projects is mailing out some 400 post-cards to my
supporters, without whom I would be a lonely artist. I printed them
yesterday, thank goodness for Cobalt drier, and into the suitcase they go
along with the labels and stamps. Another project is to synchronize the
address book in my Revo (a PDA) with addresses of friends and family, just
something I haven't had time to do. These two might qualify as working, but
my work and my life have become one in the same, very happily so.
There are books, of course, always books, mostly about art. This year I'm
learning how to make a Shoji screen, how to bind books the Japanese way, and
more about the history of printmaking, a subject that makes me hungrier for
more as I learn more. Then I might make a Shoji screen, a little one just to
practice and maybe put together a book.

And there is always the peace and contentment that come from being in
Kansas, I don't know why. Maybe it's the family or the cold weather or the
silly excursions or the small town feeling--whatever "it" is, I wish that
blissful peace to all of you this season and for the coming year.
