Happy New Year!
Wow, it's already waaay into the New Year, isn't it?
I am planning a crazy season, think I would have learned my lesson
last year. Here we go, a spring full of art fairs and this year I will
explore the markets of California, Colorado, Arizona, and Utah (hopefully
anyway). Anyone have a trailer for sale cheap? How about a volunteer assistant?
Upcoming exhibits listed here, do come by if you can.

Thoughts and Ramblings
Every time I get back from the Midwest I feel inspired by the calming
effects of farm country. This year I brought back a concept that sticks
in my mind: "keep the plow on the ground."
I guess there is a lot of extraneous thinking that goes along with
any profession, certainly with the artistic pursuit. One thousand questions
come through my head daily: Am I doing enough? Too much? The right kind
of art? Will it sell? Do I have to care if it sells? Are my prints big
enough, small enough, colorful enough, beautiful enough, impressive enough?
Should I join local groups? Approach more galleries? Enter more competitions?
Enough to give me a headache before my morning Power Bar (hey! try
them, full of nutritious...something or the other).
Then that little phrase comes along--keep the plow on the ground.
No really, in Spain I used to go to the countryside and look at those awesome
and powerful horses we call "percherones," here known as "Clydesdales."
Work horses, pulling hard on the plow with their head down, blinders on,
sweating with pride, seemingly enjoying the brutal workout.
Never mind how big the field or how poor the weather, never mind
who is watching or what they think--never a thought, just pull ahead knowing
THAT is how work gets done.
Let's plow that field, shall we?
