Block: Cherry
This is a "puzzle" piece, in which the block was sawn in 5 pieces prior to
printing. Each piece is inked separately with its separate color, the block
is assembled at press. Inks are metallic reds and umbers of different shades.
Done for an exchange among printmakers all over the world. The theme was "Where
I live." I simply asked myself the question: "where do I live?" and came up
with the answer: "entre viento y sol" (amid wind and sun"). Those two natural
forces I think typify the desert I love.
