M.J. Cole - Beech Grove Paperworks
Using cotton rag, local plant fibers, and other traditional papermaking
fibers such as hemp and linen, M.J. Cole specializes in small runs
of unique papers for printmaking and other arts.
"I particularly enjoy combining fibers and seeing how the interplay between
them affects the look and the physical structure of the paper. Working with
local plant fibers is especially interesting because the "palette" of
colors and textures changes with the seasons."
Cole has an Associate of Arts in Art degree from Angelina College in
Lufkin, Texas and has studied art at Stephan F. Austin University in
Nacogdoches. She has been making paper since 1997.
